After collecting your car at LPA, Las Palmas is a 27-minute drive and Maspalomas a 30-minute drive. From the airport, Roque Nublo, 50.9 kilometres inland, takes 66 minutes.
The rental terms limit driving in Gran Canaria to paved public roads. Blue parking markings are paid, white markings are free, and green markings in Las Palmas mark preferential parking for registered residents. The sign and parking meter at the space show the conditions for other drivers. Fuel, parking, fines and toll-road payments are the renter's responsibility.
Scenic drives in Gran Canaria include Maspalomas to Puerto Rico, 18.1 kilometres and 21 minutes. Puerto de Mogan to Agaete is 107.8 kilometres and 93 minutes.

Route guideCoast and interior
Routed times for coastal and inland legs from the airport, the resorts and Las Palmas.
What should I decide before choosing a route?
Airport collection is in arrivals, with the supplier's instructions on the voucher. From the airport, Bahia Feliz is 20 minutes away, Las Palmas 27, Puerto de Mogan 45 and Agaete 54.
The licence must be physical, valid to the end of the rental and carry its details in Latin script. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted.
How should I read a journey estimate?
The times are routed free-flow drives, without traffic, parking or stops. Roque Nublo is 50.9 kilometres from the airport and takes 66 minutes; Puerto de Mogan is 54.8 kilometres and takes 45.
From central Las Palmas, Teror is 20.7 kilometres and 31 minutes, and Agaete 33.1 kilometres and 35 minutes. The connecting leg from Agaete to Teror is 36 kilometres and 45 minutes. For a holiday based in Las Palmas, the car is collected at the airport, and the drive out to the city centre is 25.6 kilometres and 27 minutes.
Does a coastal destination mean a coastal road?
The routed drive from Puerto de Mogan to Agaete is 107.8 kilometres and 93 minutes, because routed times follow the fastest roads rather than the shoreline.
The GC-1 runs from Las Palmas to Puerto de Mogan, with a top speed limit of 120 km/h. It is designated motorway from the airport southward, and not between Las Palmas and the airport.
What should I check about fuel and mileage?
Mileage terms are set per car: uncapped, or capped per day or for the whole rental. Puerto de Mogan and back from the airport is about 110 kilometres.
The fuel-return condition requires the same fuel level as at pickup. A lower level is charged at the rental company's rates, and a higher level is not refunded.
Which rental rules matter during a day out?
Rental cars may travel only on paved public roads. Fuel, parking, fines and toll-road payments are the renter's responsibility.
Standard insurance does not cover wheels, undercarriage, windscreen or interior. The cover and reporting requirements for an insured event are immediate notice to the rental agent and a police report, unless agreed otherwise with the agent; missing either cancels the insurance.
Deliberate damage or neglect makes the insurance invalid.
What if the itinerary changes?
The rental agent must be told in advance of an extension.
Some cars are approved for inter-island ferry travel and some are not. Approval is per vehicle and is checked before booking.
The phone number given at booking, with its country code, must be reachable the day before pickup and throughout the rental.
